I can answer any question as long as it's pink!

Learning to speak the way Mummy and Daddy do is a slow process. I thought I could bring them up to my level, and teach them my language, but they insist on telling me about Cats, Mats and Hats.

I started tackling the subject of questions and answers not so long ago. It's amazing how few answers you really need to cover a whole range of questions.

If I'm asked how many there are, or how much it is, the answer can always be "two". For "what colour is it?", "pink" seems to be acceptable. And when Mummy wants to know where something is (her mobile, or my shoes, for example) the answer is usually "under" (it's much more fun making her guess what it's beneath!).

Plates are usually "empty"  30 seconds after Daddy gets his hands on them, and you can guarantee that "puddink" comes after "dinner".

I get even better mileage out of my friends and relatives whose names sound conveniently the same: there's Aunty Anna, Aunty Anne, Nana, and Joanna. But why strain my tongue around those extra sounds when "Anna" will do for any of them?

I Scream

Do you ever have days when you feel like this?

I think it's the never ending housework that does it for me. I just finish tidying up one lot of toys, when another pile appears on the floor. Honestly! I think Mummy does it to test my patience.

I went to a scarecrow festival today. The scarecrows had set themselves up in peoples gardens. I hope they asked first. There were lots of people looking at them, but they didn't seem a bit shy.

Some of them were actually very brave. This one had just jumped out of an aeroplane, right up in the sky. He floated down to the ground underneath a big tablecloth. I'll have to try that. Mummy's bedroom window should be about right for a first go...

The scarecrows had also brought with a big piano-type thing in a truck, only it had drums attached as well, and lots of pipes. It played very nice music. I stood for ages listening and dancing. Posted by Picasa

Holiday: Part Last

On the last day of our holiday, we went by boat from Brixham to Paignton. The journey was exciting. The destination was not.

That didn't stop us driving back later on in the day, so that I could have a donkey ride: here's me rallying the troops from the saddle of my noble steed:

I think it was this day that a rather embarrasing incident occured: my trousers had got rather went from stamping in puddles and so on, so mummy had taken them off - it was OK, since I had a dress on as well. Anyway, I was racing along the pier, having a great time, when I nearly tripped over this white thing lying on the floor. "Fancy leaving a nappy lying around," I thought. "Disgraceful!". And then I realised that it was mine! So Daddy had to run back to the car to get me a new one.

We paid a last visit to the beach, later in the day, and Mummy and I posed for this rather silly photo.

And finally, to finish the series. The view from our lounge window. A great inspiration whilst doing the washing up daddy said!

Holiday: (What part am I now?)

On the Thursday of our holiday, we went to Paignton Zoo. If you've ever been to Paignton, you might think that the Zoo would be rather small and shabby. It's actually rather good.

On the day we went, some baby tigers had just been let out for the first time. They even had a BBC film crew there to capture the moment (well, they said they were there for the tigers, but I think they were secretly trying to film me!)

Here's Daddy! (Now you're wondering how I got to be so pretty!

We did see a few rather slippery customers.

And some nosey ones too! Nosier even than me, I think. Posted by Picasa

Our Summer Holiday: Part 3

Are you bored of this yet?

On the Wednesday of our holiday, we went to Kent's Caverns in Babbacombe. (I did see quite a few other Babbas there, by the way). Mummy and Daddy wondered whether I would like it down there: I told them (though I'm not sure they understood) that as long as they didn't leave me in there to live with the cave bears and things, I'd be fine. Above you see my curly locks dissapearing into the depths.

They also did a ghost show that you could go and see. Mummy and I saved money by putting on our own!

Whilst there I taste tested the local Mini Milks. Not much different to the ones at home, I thought.

In an odd momement that I found, I stress tested Mummys new bracelet. It bore up quite well, and made an exciting pinging noise when I let go! Posted by Picasa

My Summer Holiday: Part 2 Continued

In the evening Mummy and Daddy went for a stroll along the clifftop (don't worry - there was a fence).

How do I know this if I was in bed? Because I've got the Photographs to prove it!

P.S. I've got a panoramic photo of Brixham harbour that I might post if enough of you ask for it. Posted by Picasa

My Summer Holiday: Part 2

On Tuesday we went to the Living Coasts exhibition at Torquay, and we found the penguins attempting to chill out. Well worth at visit, if you're down there.

This little bird was obviously not quite such an exhibitionist as the penguins!

I ate the first of many icecreams.

And even found time for a moments quiet reflection! Posted by Picasa

Holiday 2006: Part 1

Finally, I've found some time to tell you about my holiday. I know that you have all been anticipating this as much as Harry Potter 6, so without further ado:

We got down to Brixham on the Saturday afternoon. And what do you think I saw? I saw two ships go sailing out! They were very beautiful ships, and much taller than Daddy. We could spy on them from our cottage, because it overlooked the harbour.

Monday morning, bright and early, we went to the beach. I'm not sure what I'm telling you to look at in this picture, because there was no one else there, except a man in a tractor, ploughing the beach - or something like that. I didn't tell him, but I don't think he's going to grow many potatoes down there.

We headed toward Buckfast Abbey for Dinner, stopping off on the way at China Blue in Totnes. That was good fun. They let me paint a little coaster. How much do you think it would go for on Ebay - it's got my finger prints on it?

By afternoon it was getting very hot. Daddy found us somewhere shady to sit and cool down. It had a big lake where all the seagulls went swimming. I tried to, too, but Granny stopped me!

Graduating

Mummy graduated from her university today. She was a year later than everybody else, but I think that might have been my fault. Sorry Mummy! (I don't she minded though).

I learnt a new word in her honour: "Doctor". Do you think I shall have to use her full title when I address her now? I think "Doctor Mummy" sounds a bit of mouthful. Perhaps I'll have to shorten it to "Dummy"!

That hat didn't half make me feel intelligent. I think I'll have to get my name down for this university thing. Posted by Picasa

Holiday: sneak preview

I've been on Holiday this week: just got back tonight, waistlines a little tighter, as you might guess from the photo.

The original and the best

The classic toys are still the best, I find.

These flashy, new fangled things are all very well, but there are only so many times you can press a button and hear a song-and-dance routine. But how many ways can you fit little boxes inside each other (I'll tell you when I've learnt a little more about Combinatorics)? And when you get bored with that, you can stack them on top of each other. Or you can wait until Daddy has stacked them all for you, and knock over his tower.

You see: endless possibilities! Posted by Picasa

Alton Towers

We went to Alton Towers on Wednesday. Whilst Daddy went on all the boring rides like Oblivion and Nemesis, I went on the interesting rides, like Old MacDonalds Tractor. I mean, what is the point of rushing up and down and sideways and upsidedown so fast that you can't see the view much better to see the scenic side of life from a Tractor, I think!

I even got to drive my Tractor (no handed, as you see) - Daddy had to go where his ride took him.

Good reception.

Not so much a bad hair day, as a weird hair day. I think Mummy thinks I'm a doll, or something! Oh well - if it keeps her out of my hair the rest of the time... ! At least I can recieve Digital TV now! Posted by Picasa

So what time is it?

Time for a Story!

I love people reading me stories. Today, when Daddy got home from work I said "book", and being the obedient servant that he is, he straightway got me a book from the shelf, whilst I went and waited for him by our chair-where-we-read-books. Then I cuddled up to him, and we read "My World Picture Book"! Posted by Picasa
